Counselling is proven to work just as well whether you’re old or young, male or female, black or white; gay or straight, rich or poor. Your educational background makes no difference either.

It’s for anyone who’s going through a bad time or has emotional problems they can’t sort out on their own. For many adults, it may be the same or even more effective than medication.

As an experienced, professional and caring counsellor I can offer you confidential sessions at my private practice in which we can discuss anything you are finding difficult.

Stress & Anxiety

Personal Loss & Grieving

Confidence & Self Esteem

Lifestyle & Career Changes

Relationship & Family Difficulties

What would you like to know about counselling?

Its perfectly normal for you to have questions about counselling and to want satisfactory answers before proceeding. On this page I’ve tried to address some of the most common ones, but if your question or concern is not included here then please do get in touch and I’ll be very happy to provide you with the information you want free of charge.

Counselling is never exactly the same for any two people, but I guarantee all of my clients that they will be made to feel feel safe and understood; I will seek to understand you; your beliefs about yourself, others and your environment. We will work collaboratively to agree how your sessions are structured, how frequently we will meet and also to ensure we have an agreed outcome to work towards.

If you think I might be able to help you, then I encourage you to contact me so we can set up an initial meeting and create an opportunity for us to talk about you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are your fees?

I charge £45.00 per 50 minute session.

When are appointments available?

I work Tuesday – Saturday, between the hours of 12:00 – 18:00 and will always try and agree a time that is convenient for both of us.

Please note: Admittance to a Counselling session is strictly by appointment only – so please do contact me to find out when I have availability.

How many sessions are normal?

The period of time we meet for will depend on what you need. I am happy to work with clients on a short, medium or long term basis, depending on what is suited to you.

When agreeing the possible time-frame to work together, we will consider the issues you want to deal with, the outcome you are aiming for and the pace you feel comfortable working at. This is something we would review together at agreed points during your counselling, to ensure you are getting what you need from our sessions.

What is a counselling session like?

In our initial session you and I will have an opportunity to find out more about each other. We will explore what you want from counselling and determine whether the service I offer is appropriate for your needs.

It may be at first you are not sure what you want from counselling, having time dedicated to thinking about your own needs can feel like a unique experience, I will work flexibly with you to identify what you want to gain from counselling.

It is important you feel safe and understood; I work collaboratively to agree how sessions are structured, how frequently we will meet and ensure we have an agreed outcome to work towards.
